The original Grindhouse double feature release of the films never actually received a theatrical release within Australia, although it was planned. However, after the failure of the format in the US, it appears the double feature was dropped with only DEATH PROOF receiving an Australia wide release, presumably because Tarantino was a more bankable name than Rodriguez.
